August 15th Festival

August 15th is THE event in Liège, gathering an average of 200,000 people each year!
Many activities are planned for 3 days: flea markets, concerts, games, fairs, masses and processions! ?
Tchantchès and Nantesse, two people from Liège folklore are honoured as well as other Giants!

One of the particularities of this celebration is also to drink an alcohol from juniper berry called “péket”, a real TRADITION! ?

On the agenda this year:
Wednesday, August14: folklore parades, fairgrounds and concerts on Place Delcour
Thursday, August 15: procession of the Black Virgin of Outremeuse, mass, sermon and large folkloric procession of the Giants of Outremeuse
Friday, August 16: funeral of Matî l’Ohê (or Mathieu l’os in Walloon) symbolising the remains of the festivities

FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

The famous Food Truck Festival also called “FADA” is back in Liege until Sunday at “Parc d’Avroy!

 

TO BE CONSUMED: About thirty food trucks that offer a multitude of choices:

– The classic hotdogs and hamburgers,
– Homemade ice cream and sorbets,
– Jars of jams made with passion and love,
– Cocktails to refresh yourself: gin tonic, spritz, mojitos..,
– Paella and fried squid to escape for a moment to Spain,
– Grilled meats,
– And many more ! 🙂

TO LISTEN: Do you want to dance? Local DJs mix in the park throughout the day! 🙂

TO WATCH: Films are screened in the open air to the delight of young and old alike. Sitting on the grass, on straw bales or on wooden stools, it’s up to you! 🙂

The Festival LES ARDENTES, established in Liège in 2006, is one of the city’s most important events. This festive atmosphere attracts more than 75,000 people every year!

The festival is taking place this year from July 4 to 7, don’t forget to note them down!

Summer Beer Festival 2019 : cheers !

Festivals season has started in Liege, and why not highlight Liege’s best heritage : beer ! From 6th June to 10th June, you can enjoy the Summer Beer Festival at place Tivoli, near Place Saint Lambert. Take advantage of the Pentecost holiday to test around thirty handmade beers. Several funny activities are planned such as Beer yoga or blind degustation. Open to every beer’s lovers !

This week is packed with arrivals of our frequent (and new!) tenants that came exclusively for the Christmas market!! They are all excited for the opening which takes place TODAY!!! We can barely await to stroll around their huts while drinking a glass of mulled wine to get warm and to eat all the delicious Christmas specialties.

The Christmas market in Liège, existing for 31 years already, is the most important one in Belgium due to its size and the atmosphere that is surrounding it. Every year, there are around 200 huts that attract almost 2 million visitors among which you can find more and more visitors from all over the world!

The festivities begin TODAY. Don’t miss it because on top of all, Liège was elected the European Christmas City!!!

“Les Ardentes” festival

Like every year and without exception, since 12 years, the city of Liège welcomes more than 75 000 persons for the festival “LES ARDENTES”.

This event is held at Liège, in the Astrid park by the border of the Meuse river and this year, it will be from thursday 5th to sunday 8th of july !

Once again, this festival will welcome lots of well-known singer from all around the world such as Migos, Lil Pump, Wiz Khalifa, Niska, Damso, and more for this beautiful line up that will satisfy every musical genre rock, pop, rap, electro and more ! As you can see, since a few years, a hip-hop trend is getting around Les Ardentes with well-known international artists.

Victim of its own success, the pass for 4 days at the price of 125 € is already sold out but don’t worry, you can always buy night pass at 60 euros ! (Free entrance for children under 12).

We are excited to be there, to spend some time with friends, with a good belgium beer ! See you there !

The festival of micro-breweries from Liège is back this weekend! These Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April you will have the opportunity to savour the home-made quality productions of about fifteen small- and medium-sized breweries of the province gathered for “La cite de la bière”. Tomorrow from  4 pm,  the ‘Musée de la vie wallonne‘ is the place to be for an entertaining weekend full of discoveries! Cheers!

Brussels Summer Festival 2014

The Belgian capital city is hosting the Brussels Summer Festival 2014 from 08/08 to 17/08/14, a major event that echoes in the entire royal district from Place des Palais to Mont des Arts. Come and move to the rhythms of IAM, M, Patty Smith and many more during these 10 festive and multicultural days. Fancy a break? Relax at the urban village, at the screening of short films or during street activities, organized alongside of the festival for a most enjoyable experience !
