At first created for militaries during the 19th century, these 374 steps are a real everyday challenge, which would burn all your calories gained after eating Liege’s waffles. However, it’s completely worth it because when you get on top, you can enjoy its amazing view of Liege. Bonus, during holidays, the stairs are decorated with candles or flowers. With a bike or a not, this is the perfect place for extreme sports ‘ lovers.
It starts on Friday with the BueRun ! This running, as its names almost indicates, starts in the famous stairs of Montagne de Bueren, crosses the park of the Citadelle and finally passes through the historical center. This tour is to be done twice and ends at the top of the 374 steps. This is really hard !
You can rest on Saturday and take you bike on Sunday for the famous bike race Liège-Bastogne-Liège ! It begins in the center of Liège and go to the steepest coasts of the region. It ends up at the top of the Côte d’Ans which spices up the final sprint !
