Whether by district, amongst colleagues, friends or as a family, some Brussels residents grow seasonal fruit and vegetables on their roofs!
Even the Royal Library of Belgium (here) has got involved and allows the public to go and pick some garnish for their lunchtime sandwich from above its cafeteria!
For bigger crops, larger gardens and orchards are within ten minutes of Brussels (for example, in Anderlecht and in Overijse) and make small tubs, buckets or wheelbarrows available to those who want them. The fruit of these crops is charged by weight.
You can visit it if you rent a flat brussels.
