BEER : THE OSTER BREWERY’S BLONDE

Let’s face it, the love of Belgians for craft beers is not new and it’s not going to fade away anytime soon!

Microbreweries have continued to flourish all over Belgium in recent years. This is also the case in Manhay, in the Ardennes, where the Oster brewery caught our attention and its 7.2% blonde seduced our taste buds. Creamy and tasty, with a very reasonable bitterness and a pleasant cereal flavour. It even has a slight hint of cardamom!

Also, don’t hesitate to enter the Brasserie d’Oster, it’s a nice place to stop and taste the creations of the house and grab a bite to eat!

BETWEEN FRIENDS/FAMILY: THE NEW JONFOSSE SWIMMING POOL

Put on your swimming gear! A new public swimming pool has opened! And we couldn’t be happier!

Its brand-new facilities and varied bathing areas tick all the boxes: a large pool for the most athletic lengths, a cadet dedicated to learning and the pleasure of paddling, a nice lagoon for the little ones … as well as a relaxation and dining area.

Everything is there – and well thought out – to make you feel good! We particularly appreciate the large bay window which gives this place a beautiful luminosity. A great cure for all the greyness!

CULTURE : GLASS MUSEUM, ON THE NEW BELGIAN JAZZ SCENE

Curious UFOs in a mainstream musical landscape, the two Brussels musicians from Glass Museum have nevertheless forged a solid place for themselves on the new Belgian jazz scene and dusted off the style with subtle electro arrangements.

This face-to-face piano/drum instrumental duo is worth seeing as much as listening to and seduces with its energy and exhilarating soundscapes. Their second album should be released in March 2020. A discovery not to be missed!

TIP : “D’UN LIVRE À L’AUTRE” (FROM A BOOK TO ANOTHER)

Once upon a time there was a merry band of bibliophile friends who came up with the idea of organizing a book swap.

The aim was to reconcile a passion for reading with a desire to consume better. They didn’t expect such a success! This joyous event was the start of “D’un Livre à l’Autre”.

The principle? At one-off and travelling events (during which you (re)discover great places in Liège), up to five of his books are exchanged for new finds brought by others. One keyword: take your time. Isn’t that beautiful?
