It’s easy to travel around a city, from one end to the other everyday, without certain details (even big ones) catching our distracted eye.
Scattered across the city, the various works of street art make the city’s heart beat. This is the case in Liege (and in many other Belgian cities as well!), where these colourful, surprising and magnificent creations decorate many walls and façades. Once you’ve spotted them, you won’t want to miss them again. A map of their locations is available on the City of Liège website and guided tours are also offered several times a year.
2020 has definitely invited us to revisit our classics and find the charm of escape just a stone’s throw away from home.
The Caves of Han are a must-see attraction for all generations! Go 110 metres underground to discover its historical secrets, impressive rooms and giant stalagmites! And if you’re more comfortable on the surface, the 5.5 km walk through 250 hectares of wildlife park should make you just as happy!
Houblonde prides itself on being “the first dynamized beer in the world”, which has certainly piqued our curiosity!
Brewed in Tournais, this blonde beer (5.6%) is sweet, particularly fizzy and… definitely full of secrets! From water that’s regenerated by passing through a vortex, magnetic fields, elixir of wild mountain flowers and electrophotonic energy to the bar code that includes the Fibonacci sequence! We’ve never found anything more intriguing – yet!
We have a 2nd property for sale! Maybe you recognise it?
This is the Clary Penthouse, an apartment that was previously only a rental property, until now! On the 10th floor with 72 square meters and unobstructed views of the city, not to mention the two terraces where you can enjoy the morning and evening sun, this is a truly great investment opportunity. Whether you want to continue your successful years of welcoming visitors or to put down your own suitcases!
This way !
We’re there every Friday morning, finding vintage gems and loving all things second hand!
It’s also worth a visit to experience the market’s special atmosphere itself. We like to wander around with a coffee in hand, soaking up the sights and sounds of the colourful and authentic exchanges between antique dealers. Arrive from 6:00 am for the real bargains, but you’ve got until the end of the morning to enjoy the child-like pursuit of hunting for treasures. A timeless ritual!
They have won us over on all fronts: we love the sophisticated, surprising and delicious food at Como en Casa,
AND it’s vegetarian, vegan, organic, local, seasonal, often even gluten-free and – rare enough to mention – in decent sized portions! Running the show, in both the kitchen and front of house, is a team of charming young people. The light and airy space with its vintage industrial decor (always livened up with temporary art exhibitions) adds to the experience! A must try!
What a change!
After a few weeks of renovation, the Saint-Rémy 2 apartment is barely recognizable. New furniture, a new painting and a modern decoration completely change the atmosphere of the apartment. Its cosy side has been accentuated and makes it now even more attractive tostay in Liège with family or friends thanks to two beautiful rooms.
